My choice for creating professional PDF documents is pdfFactory Pro. You could spend $500 or more for others, yet pdfFactory Pro creates secure and high quality PDF documents, so try out their free trial copy.
FinePrint Software has a series of programs for creating PDF files without buying higher cost programs from others. Adding PDF versions of order forms, catalogs, or other printed materials to your website is a great way to save on printing costs.
There are freeware programs available for making PDFs, yet my choice was to buy pdfFactory Pro because of the full featured options that I feel are necessary for professional results.
The entry level program from FinePrint is pdfFactory which you may buy online for around $50 USD. It is okay for very basic documents, but for better security and features I recommend the pro version. It sells for around $100 USD and is called pdfFactory Pro.
The advantage of the pro version is the ability to preprogram sets of footers and headers, security settings, create PDFs on letterhead, do page numbering, stamp your documents, and create watermarks.
